Because of an onslaught of spambots on our forum, I have set it so that I must approve each and every newly registered user.
This has caused a problem — I can’t always tell who is a legitimate user and who isn’t. Sometimes it’s easy, I assume anyone with a .ru in their email address is a spammer. There are a few other suffixes I’ve noted as well.
So, unfortunately, I’m going to have to ask every newly registered user to also email us with their username, so we can verify that you’re not a bot.
It sucks, and I wish I didn’t have to do it, but as of right now, I see no better solution.
